| Personal Reflections From Cindy |
My life has been ruled by fear in many areas. It was huge to me when it came time to step into my own greatness and take care of myself. I had always been taken care of by a man. First my father, then my husband, then the man in my next relationship. I was so afraid that I didn’t have what it took to take care of my own needs that I was paralyzed by FEAR.
When I was faced with taking care of myself FEAR shut down my mind. I couldn’t even think of a way I could truly support myself emotionally and financially and I would spin in the fear and worry of what I was going to do next.
Through lots of shedding, prayer, meditation and support I have been facing my fears for some time now. With each tiny step I take into places that not only make me feel uncomfortable, but down right petrified I have moved into the place where I believe in myself and my ability to create my own life.
I have had a personal business coach and mentor for 18 months now that has given me solid tasks and concrete systems to reach every one of my goals and bring my life into a place where I am whole and using my talents and wisdom to step into the life I really want.
Last weekend I went to the second meeting of my Elite Master Mind and Sacred Coaching Circle in Jersey City. This group of 22 women entrepreneurs are all stepping into a life of power and purpose, just like me. Being in a room with the energy of strong confident women has changed my life. Each one of these women is breaking through the limits of their own glass ceilings and making an amazing difference in their life and the lives of others. We have become like family and are always pushing each other to be live up to our highest potential. And it all started by me being willing to face the fears that had kept me small for way too long! I am thankful.
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

| Red Hot Living FormulaTM - Step 4 Facing the Fear of Your NOW |
In our culture of constantly seeing the accomplishments of the rich and famous in our living rooms on TV and at the check out stands in the grocery stores, it is easy to feel like your life will never be as good as theirs. It is hard not to compare and be jealous of another person’s accomplishments and weigh them against your own.
Taking a step away from comparing and judging yourself for the areas you see in your life that just don’t seem that successful is a needed step to raising your own life to another level.
When you compare your life to someone else you disconnect from your own greatness and begin to beat yourself up. I accepted the concept a few years ago that there is no such thing as a mistake or failure. When Thomas Edison was asked about his 10,000 failed attempts to create a light bulb he answered, “If I find 10,000 ways something won’t work, I haven’t failed. I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward.” WOW, did that ever change my thinking about failure!
One of the biggest FEARS we all have is fear of failure, and this very fear kept me stuck for so long. “What if this doesn’t work?” “I don’t even know where to start.” “How in the world did they think of that?” “What will people think of me if this doesn’t work?” “What will I do if I can’t make money?”
All of these questions keep you stuck. I have learned to just step out there. What you learn by your attempt will give you the information you need to take your next step. Just do something! My coach calls it taking action. This is the key to moving. You have to make a move. Trying to move a mountain by analyzing and thinking about it will not move that mountain one iota. You have to practice the Law of Deliberate Creation. Deliberately take some action to create what you want.
Using this law in your life and your business is the only way to make what you want happen. I have spent way too much time wanting to know how something is going to happen and been afraid to just do it.
Here are some practical tips when you find yourself facing a fear in your life:
- Get out of your head and onto your feet. Planning is of course a necessary part of your creation but knowing 100% what will happen with your action is usually not a guarantee. You have to risk the unknown and step out in order to bring something into creation. An artist can think about a painting or sculpture all day long but until she picks up the brush or softens the clay if will never be something others can enjoy. Think all you want and then stand up and do it.
- Connect into your inner guidance and intuition. Follow your heart. Have you ever heard that small voice inside giving you an idea? Have you ever woke up in the morning and had a dream that inspired you to do something or change something? You are equipped with an abundant creative power right inside you that will tell you how to solve issues and how to make something happen. You just have to listen and then be willing to act.
- Practice personal courage. Is there something you know you are being called to do but you keep putting it off because it just feels too big? I know that feeling. The only way to climb the mountain is to embrace courage. It is an action that you just decide to do. Yes, it will feel like you may die, but once you have stepped off the cliff and felt the freedom of taking the risk you will build the personal courage muscle in your life. With each step into the unknown your muscle will get stronger and you will be able to face the next fear with more confidence.
- Get outside support and guidance. Having a coach/mentor or a group that can speak into your life and show you what you may be missing is an invaluable tool. Allowing yourself to be taught and guided by others who want you to succeed will put you light years ahead when you are open.
Remember, there are no mistakes, no failures…only learnings. Have the courage to eliminate what doesn’t work and you will be one step closer to what does.
What small step can you take into the unknown today? Just one little shift, one little change, one little courageous step can open up a whole new world to you.
