| Personal Reflections From Cindy |
Life is all about changes. No matter how you resist change it will always be what you are called to do. Without change life becomes monotonous, difficult, and unfulfilling.
If you have been following me for the last few years you know that I have been embracing change in a major way in my life. For so many years when I was younger I tried to hold on to what was making me happy at the time and not allow it to change. I lived with frustration and confusion as I clung to the areas that I just didn’t want to change. The crazy thing is they would change anyway and leave me unhappy no matter how hard I tried to keep them the same. I did it the hard way. This led to resentment and pain.
Now I know an easier way. I have watched this process in action…from a snake. Got your attention huh? You need to shed your skin so you can grow. Like a snake.
I have always been terrified of snakes my whole life and I was totally paralyzed even just seeing a picture of a snake. About a year ago I decided I didn’t want to be that afraid of anything anymore so I set out to overcome my fear of snakes by visiting a pet shop that had lots of snakes. About 500 to be exact! It was so overwhelming that I couldn’t even hold a baby snake that was the size of a pencil. Too much at once. I left there thinking, “That was a crazy idea”.
Then over Christmas my son got a snake from a friend and again I was given the opportunity to face my fear. I decided this was my time and it was much more manageable with this pretty orange and yellow snake that had no teeth. I took it slow. I was determined to change. I allowed myself to feel the fear by just being in the same room, sitting next to it, looking at it, touching it for a millisecond. As I felt the fear, called it what is was and allowed myself to face it an amazing thing begin to happen. I was able to move into the space of being able to hold it. Through short experiences with the snake I became more and more comfortable as I quieted my mind and let the fear fall away. Now I can hold her and I am actually enjoying watching her as she lives her life.
An amazing thing I have witnessed 3 times is her shedding.
Each time I watch her do this I am reminded of my own shedding. She rubs against anything rough or hard in her cage over and over to get the skin to come off. It is not a fast process. It takes days for her to actually get it all off. Once she has scratched, rubbed, and wiggled out of her former skin, she rests. She will be still for hours to adjust to her bigger self.
I have related this to my own inner growth and continual shedding as I keep growing in my life. By rubbing against things that make me uncomfortable, feel weird, or scare me I have been able to step into bigger places in my life.
When you find yourself paralyzed by fear of change and growth remember it is the natural progression of expansion. Those uncomfortable places that cause you pain and feel unnatural for you are a sign that you are shedding and growing into being your considerably huge self! When you allow them to be you can move through them.
Be kind to yourself and allow the process to unfold the way it is meant to. One step at a time. On the other side you will see the new you and feel your own growth and expansion…and you will be amazed and proud of yourself for what you have done!

| Red Hot Living FormulaTM - Step 3 Shedding Is A Good Thing |
Are you frustrated with something in your life that isn’t working like you want it to? Shedding and growing in your all areas of your life is essential to building and creating the life you want to be living. If you are in business for yourself do you find yourself thinking “I just need to go get a JOB and give this up?” It wasn’t that long ago I felt the same way. I can’t tell you how many times the panic of not being able to figure out how to do this business has kept me up at night in a state of fear that I was going to have to let go of my dream.
If you are facing big transitions and challenges in your life, how do you react? Does the fear stop you dead in your tracks just like my fear of snakes did me?
Like the snake, being uncomfortable and rubbing against rough and hard places will move you to the next level. You are just shedding!
Focus on your NOW and allow it to work for you.
Step one of The Red Hot Living Formula™: Investigating your NOW, may be uncomfortable and feel rough, but it is where you have to start to shed what isn’t working.
How can you begin to breathe life back into the vision you have for your life?
1. What are you doing with your time?
Investigate the NOW of your personal life to make sure you are supporting what you want in order to be successful in bringing that about for yourself.
What are you thinking? Are you afraid of being successful? Are you afraid being a failure? Are you afraid of change? Do you try to hold on to what no longer serve where you are in life right now? Are you resisting your next step? Does it feel overwhelming or too big for you to take? What are you doing daily, weekly, bi weekly, monthly, bi annually, and annually to support yourself, your big goals and your big dreams? You must be aware of what you are doing that is creating the reality you are living.
If you are feeling like you are always working but not getting where you want to go. STOP! Take a real honest look at what you are thinking and what you are doing. How are you supporting yourself?
Make a list of what you do with your time and evaluate if it is getting you what you want. If it isn’t, start shedding. Take an honest look at what you are doing to sabotage your dreams.
2. What is missing in my life and what do I really want?
For a long time I resisted putting myself out there to attract the women that I wanted to work with in my business. Lots of things kept my authentic voice from coming through. Mainly fear. My ego mind would tell me that I had nothing to say, who would listen to me anyway. I would get caught by the effects of the mistakes I had made in my past and the fear of “who do you think you are” would stop me dead in my tracks.
I finally realized that I had to be willing to move ahead no matter what. No matter how it felt, no matter what other people thought, and no matter how scared I was in order to grow and serve others from a place of strength inside me. My inner fire. It all comes from inside you. You have to be willing to do the work to transform yourself if you want to help transform someone else.
Get crystal clear about what you want and then investigate what you are doing that is keeping it from happening.
3. Patience is a virtue.
In our culture of instant results and instant gratification you may find yourself frustrated with the time it takes to get your life where you want it to be. I sure have.
If your expectation is that you will discover the “magic bullet” to make it all work, you may get worn down by your disappointment when it just doesn’t happen fast enough or the way you thought it would.
Recently I asked my personal mentor and business coach Heather how to make my business grow faster. She wisely told me. “You have to build it. This is the way all successful people have done it. One step at a time, like building a house. Brick by brick.” The magic is in consistent diligence, conscious action, and a willingness to be uncomfortable and change. This advice let me know I am right on target. I keep laying one brick on top of another at every stage of my life and business and embrace the uncomfortable places and it will continue to create opportunity and wild success.
Living in the NOW in all areas of your life, physical, emotional and spiritual will create the life you want to be living. Your Red Hot Life. Begin to practice honest investigation of what is not working and begin to discover places to start to put new thinking, behaviors, and intentions into conscious action to create the results you really want.
And always remember: Shedding is a good thing!
