Is Fear Becoming Your Constant Companion During These Times?

With all the economic tremors and the health scares we are watching take place in our world today, it is easy to let fear become a part of your daily life. When you find yourself afraid what do you do? You can either freak out or hide your head in the sand. Neither one of these is very effective in getting you to the calm place you want to live. Replace that fear with TRUST AND EXPANSION.

The current state of affairs is a great time to reevaluate your life and come up with some strategies to be at peace in the midst of uncertainty. Turn off the television and begin to focus your energy on positive ways to make your life better.

Look inside: Retreat into yourself and breathe. As women we are not used to doing this. More often than not we turn our focus outward and meet the needs of others before ourselves. Because we are hard wired to be nurturers, we have to be reminded that we need to be nurtured FIRST in order to meet the needs of those we love. Begin to practice this crucial step to peace today. Make a list of ways you can begin to nurture yourself starting small and building everyday.

Surround yourself with beauty: Bring the beauty of nature into your home. I love to have leaves, feathers, cool rocks, and of course flowers and plants in my home to connect me with the beauty outside. We can get so busy with our lives that we forget to smell the roses. This is not an indulgence, it is a necessity. Beautiful colors, patterns, and things we love will inspire us to live a more centered and energetic life.

Connect with family and friends: Let your love flow to the important people in your life. Having a support system in place that keeps your true self flowing in and out is essential. Reconnect with old friends and family that you may have lost touch with. Live in the moment and be grateful for what you have and those you love.

HAVE SOME FUN: Do something that is really fun and makes you laugh. This is a time to stretch yourself and dare to bring out the child in you again. Get physical. Roller skate, swing as high as you can at the park, throw a football, have a water balloon fight,finger paint, or turn up the music and have your very own dance party! Think back on times you had a blast doing somethIng crazy that didn’t cost any money. Make it a habit to do this all the time… Let it rip!

Remember TTSP! This too shall pass. Create strategies to make it through this time with focus, grace and expansion.   You are worth it!
